Community Guidelines

Last Updated: March 21, 2026

Crit-Fumble grew out of a small group of game masters who wanted a better place to play together. These guidelines carry the spirit of that original community forward. They aren't a legal contract — they're how we agree to treat each other.

1. Be Kind and Respectful

Treat every person on this platform the way you'd want to be treated at your own table. Disagreements happen — handle them with courtesy. If someone asks to change the subject or tone of an interaction, do so without argument.

Hate speech in any form is strictly forbidden. This includes — but is not limited to — racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, religious intolerance, and xenophobia. There is no context (fictional, comedic, or otherwise) in which it is acceptable here.

2. This Is a Safe Space for Everyone

Crit-Fumble is for people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, and nationalities. Everyone is welcome at this table.

Address people by their preferred names and pronouns. Respect cultural traditions different from your own. If you're unsure about something, ask — don't assume.

3. This Platform Is 18+

Crit-Fumble is an adult platform. Users must be 18 or older to register. We do not knowingly allow minors to use the service. Accounts found to belong to minors will be permanently closed and all data deleted immediately.

Most sessions aim for a roughly PG-13 baseline by default. Mature content above that level — including explicit language, graphic violence, or sexual content between adult characters — requires explicit opt-in consent from every participant, established before the campaign begins.

Session Zero matters. Before a campaign begins, your GM should run a Session Zero to establish content boundaries together: tone, themes, hard limits, and what kind of banter is welcome. Nothing gets added to the table's agreed limits without everyone's buy-in. Moderate language, light adult humor, and the occasional innuendo are allowed when the whole group has consented.

Some content is never acceptable regardless of consent: any sexual depiction of minors (including fictional, illustrated, or AI-generated), non-consensual intimate imagery, hate speech, and content that is otherwise illegal. Session Zero cannot unlock these. See our Terms of Service §4.6 for the full list of absolute prohibitions.

4. Protect Everyone's Privacy

Do not share another person's personal information — real name, address, phone number, workplace, or anything else that could identify them in the real world — without their explicit consent. This applies in session chat, campaign notes, character descriptions, and anywhere else on the platform.

We also recommend being cautious about what personal information you share about yourself. You don't need to use your real name here — a handle is fine and preferred. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store and what we don't.

5. Display Names

Your display name must follow all community guidelines — keep it appropriate and free of slurs, hate speech, or anything that would violate the rules above.

If you want to represent one or more characters within a campaign, a common convention is:Username [Character1 / Character2]— for example, Mumbley [Kade / Oda / Whisper]. Keep your username first so people can address you out-of-character.

6. Voice and Session Etiquette

When playing in voice sessions, be mindful of your surroundings. Background noise affects everyone at the table. If you need to step away or your audio is disruptive, mute yourself.

GMs have the authority to ask players to mute or pause. Respect that call without pushback — it's a table management tool, not a personal judgment.

7. No Piracy

Do not share, distribute, upload, or encourage the use of pirated game resources — rulebooks, supplements, adventures, art, music, or any other copyrighted material you don't have the right to share. This includes linking to pirated content or describing how to obtain it. Support the creators whose work you love.

8. Have Fun

We're not here to build a perfectly lore-accurate simulation of anything. We're here to have a good time together. Crit-Fumble campaigns run the full range — slapstick comedy, serious character drama, intricate politics, and the occasional truly chaotic combat encounter. All of it is valid.

If the style of game you want to run or play doesn't fit an existing campaign, build your own world. That's what the platform is for.

Enforcement

Violations are handled in proportion to their severity:

  • Warning — for minor or first-time violations
  • Removal from a session or campaign— at the GM's or an admin's discretion
  • Temporary suspension — for repeated or more serious violations
  • Immediate permanent ban — for hate speech, harassment, doxxing, piracy, or any absolute prohibition violation

CSAM is reported immediately.Any content that sexually depicts or exploits minors — regardless of claimed fictional status — will be removed, the account permanently banned, and the material reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement. There is no warning for this.
